This is the full installation of the mod. This is needed for a new installation coming from v1.1 or lower. A previous instalation of the mod should be removed before installing this one.
Iron Sun Mod is a mod replicating scenarios real special forces undertake. Each scenario involves two opposing forces: the wide-spread Rogue terrorist organization, and the Iron Sun squads -- an elite international group, assembled specifically to hinder Rogue operations. The mod includes 13 objective style maps, 6 new skins, new sounds, new realistic weapons, modified player movements, modified gun reactions, a new HUD, a new interface, new enviromental effects, and more. Version 1.2 adds many new changes to the HUD, players and weapons and includes an auto-update feature for the mod and also incorporates the unofficial 1.30 patch for Red Faction to eliminate cheating.

This is a nice war style modification that changes the interface and sounds, almost every weapon sound, character sounds, environment sounds, weapon firing rates, weapon ammo counts, weapon effects, more realistic player jump, and much more. If you tried the BETA that was here, this is much better and well worth the download. There may be yet another version in the future with cammo skins, weapon tracers on certain weapons and more features.

This mod mainly includes a number of changes to weapons. The precision rifle is now fully automatic but does less damage, the HMG fires faster and more accurately, the rail driver can hold a bigger clip but fires 3 rounds at a time, the assault rifle is replaced by the precision rifle and is a semi automatic shotgun, the pistol has a bigger clip, the FRL has a larger crater radius, the rocket launcher fires rockets at faster intervals, and grenades are now smoke bombs. Other changes include a slightly higher jump height and removed reticles to make kills harder.

This is a modification that is supposed to bring some true balance to the game. Every weapon has been edited in some way leveling out the weapons so they are equally useful in every situation. There are new sounds and new graphics along with a new interface. A new weapon, a grenade launcher was added in place of the grenades also.
