Yea I am kind of with you Ghost. The more tidbits I read on RF3 it just keeps sounding more like RF2 being a full port from the consoles and being pretty lame on the PC side.

There is still a lot of time for things to change somewhat and both THQ & Volition both HAVE to understand what the existing Red Faction community wants to see in the game because we have been so outspoken time and time again but with THQ being the producer of the game; they aren't going to aim to blow our socks off with a great true sequal to RF1. They just want sales.

Yea, you can kind of tell who is getting priority with RF3 since a multiplayer demo was released for the CONSOLES and the release date is first for the CONSOLES on June 5th in the EU and June 2nd in the US and then finally the PC release in August 2009.

The Red Faction community was the PC community and already they are pro console.

Awesome game. Destructive dynamic gameplay. Best free roam imo.

Have you been playing it on the console?

I see that the PC release was pushed back even longer now due to "technical problems".

Yeah I've been playing it on the 360. The storyline is pretty cool for the singleplayer but i'm impressed by the multiplayer. I figured it would be bogus but it's pretty challenging. Reminds me of a mix between gears of war and GTA

Interesting. I am anxious to see what it is like; I will admit that. This game engine really is the only one of its kind with a destructible environment and I think that is what will really make the game sell. The problem is that if ole' school RFers think this is going to be like old times I think they will be sorely mistaken. Hopefully the multiplayer is played in the end and everyone doesn't just buy the game to try it out.

No I haven't tried it yet. I don't really care for consoles. I have a PS2 that hasn't been touched in months and probably never will be again because every time I get a game for it that looks or sounds cool I will play it once and never play it again because it sucks in one way or another. I will get RF:G when it comes out for PC for sure though.

And yea the site is still kicking a bit but the traffic statistics aren't really true due to a lot of traffic hitting my site is spammers trying to get on the forum. I've locked the registration down to me authorizing new ones otherwise there would still be a TON of spam.

Just pulled a quick chart out of my site statistics with my host. These are hits on the most popular pages from Jan. 2009 to Dec. 2009. As you can see spammers hitting the forum index accounts for MANY hits on the site. I'm not gonna complain though when it gets me on the first page of Google search results for "red faction".

Just beat the game. Pretty neat story-line the only cheesy part was the intro with your brother. Literally it was the worst dramatic death i've seen to date. The beginning of rf1 with the miner dying from the baton was more epic than your brother getting shot. He's like oh, my brother is dead. I'll go nock down a building now. (first 30 seconds of gameplay) All in all good game. They did limit geo-mod a bit and i brought up game files at least they limited scripting so you wont get ip hacked from logging in unlike rf1. Seems they've come a long way from Rugrats.

I'm pretty sure this is still the #1 stop for rf players. This was the first site i registered to when is started playing, and i'd still rather download here than levels4you. My website i retired 2 years ago has had about 46k hits total. So i guess spammers are still very alive being as we had around 50 members lol
