Installation:
Extract   0_AVRiL-Weapon_fix.vpp   into your     user_maps/multi      folder.
Run Red Faction (launch RF.exe) start or join a game and pick up the AVRiL item.
To remove the mod, just remove the vpp from your multi folder.

This is NOT A CHEAT modification.
The mod ONLY replaces the model, textures, sounds and the animations of the Shoulder Cannon.

-- This mod MAY give the user slight time advantages or disadvantages. (weapon draw, holster and reload)
-- I don't know how long the original animations are, but they are VERY close to the original ones.
-- From the sound files I can say, that they are pretty the same lenght.

Attention: If you already have a client mod, that replaces the Shoulder Cannon, RF may use
the old model instead of this one. Also your ui.vpp should be untouched to avoid errors.

You can't have the "AVRiL" and the "Tormentor" client mods running at the same time. Both weapons use the Shoulder Cannon
as their base. You'll have to choose your favorite model.
My tip is to unpack one weapon in the multi folder and the other one in the user_maps folder. When you want to switch the model you can
quickly switch the mods by changing their folder locations.




This model was converted from Unreal Tournament 2004 to Red Faction. It was specially made to be a client side mod.
I have used the 3rd person UT mesh for RFs first person view and re-textured, skinned and animated it for Red Faction.
This is the fixed version, the 3rd person model of the AVRiL was an older version (added it to vpp by mistake)
The weapon wasn't placed properly on the players shoulder (no dummy for hand), it was floating above the player.
I also have scaled the texture for the 3rd person model to 256x256 (it was 128 before)

Details:
1st and 3rd perspn weapon models, textures, 1st person animations, sounds, new VFX Rocket Projectile mesh (see screenshot)
NO CHANGES in any table files, modified table files are not used in this mod (cool eh?)

All characters supported. Multiplayer supported.
Compatible with any server you join. (that matches your version)

Bugs:

You often won't be able to see the fire animation because this is a bug of RF, guns which have only 1 shot in clip left
will not play the fire animation when the ammo goes empty, too   :-/
